How the idea for this programme started
Seasonal planning is not a niche skill.
It is the difference between reacting to a heating bill in
February and having accounted for it in September.
The programme began in 2024 after a series of conversations
with Cork residents who described the same pattern: they
understood budgeting in principle but consistently ran
short in predictable months. The culprit was rarely
reckless spending — it was the absence of a
forward-looking seasonal framework.
Gocukee was built specifically to close that gap. The
workshops do not teach financial literacy from scratch.
They assume participants already manage their money and
focus instead on the temporal dimension — when costs
cluster, when income fluctuates, and how to prepare for
both.
